The Locality

Innerleithen

Is a cracking village situated in the heart of the Tweed Valley. As well as the mountain biking it offers excellent golf, fishing, walking, canoeing and local amenities.

It is a world away from Edinburgh (1 hour), Glasgow (1-1/2 hours) and Newcastle (2 hours). It offers a mix of peace and tranquility with a touch of adrenalin from the adventure sports on the door step.

The town is based around the high street which is part of the main road leading from Peebles and Glentress in the west to Galashiels in the east. Along the high street are various hotels, pubs, takeaways and shops. It is a traditional town with an excellent butchers, bakers and greengrocers supplying the best and freshest of local produce. In addition there is a small supermarket, an award winning ice cream shop, two first class bike shops and places to eat and drink.

The town is surrounded by the beautiful hills of the Tweed Valley with Plora Rig and Minch Moor to the south, Pirn Craig and Kirnie Law to the east and Lee Pen to the North. There is an abundance of trails for mountain bikers, walkers and horse riders alike.

The Tweed sits less than half a mile to the south of the town and offers the best in salmon and trout fishing. Along the river runs the old railway line which although it doesn’t take trains anymore is great for biking or just taking the dog for a walk.

The house is located to the west end of the town and a better location for all the amenities, the biking, the fishing or skipping across the road to go to the bike shop or the pub can’t be found.
