Summer is well and truly here and the trails that we know and love are dry and riding well. Things have quietened down a bit following the massive weekend that was Air Maiden 2010 and the first of the kids mini downhill at Inners. Our sister company Bikes and Berms, along with a few trailfairies made up a satellite, landing ramp and kicker for the event. A massive thanks to everybody…

A few stories from 2009…
Glentrail, The Clan and MB7 hit The Outdoor Show in Birmingham back in May. The things you can do with a haggis….
In June we had a fantastic weekend up at Fort Willliam where Glentrail as part of the Tweed Valley Tourism Consortium had a stand in the EXPO area as well as helping out The Clan and Danny Macaskill with their trials display. We had a great time and a big thanks goes out to Ben, Nik, Deirdre, The Girls, Nash, Duncan, Iain, Kenny, Lynne, Ash and everybody else for all their help over the weekend. Scaffolding!!!!
Again, in June we had the Tweed Valley Bike Bash at the St Ronan’s Primary School in Innerleithen, The event was organised by Deirdre on behalf of the Tweed Valley Tourism Consortium to bring local businesses and organisations together to promote biking to the kids and the community involved. We had a fantastic setup with The Clan doing a top notch demo display, the girls from the Hub doing a have a go session with the kids, Peebles Cycling Club setup a biking obstacle course, Ben from BikesandBerms.com with a purpose built wooden pump track and the one and only trail building maestro Mr Andy Wardman from the Forestry Commission at Glentress showing the kids how to build a trail in the woods based in the school grounds. Hopefully this will lead to the building of a 120m trail section which can be built and used by the kids and community. A massive thanks goes out to everybody involved, it was a fantastic event.
We helped Lynne at Air Maiden 11 on the 10th & 11th October, this was a great success and a big well done goes to Lynne and all involved for getting everything organised
Late October and we were involved with Helen, Steve and Dan from InnerleithenMTBRacing and Dave Winton from Scottish Cycling for the Spooky Downhill event at Innerleithen. This was hopefully the first of many ‘mini’ downhill events for both the kids and the adults. It was a great day with a coaching session from Dave, followed by practice and afternoon racing on the lower section of the cresta run in the October sunshine. This one, was for the 10-16 year olds and a big well done to all those involved, especially Neil, Seamus, Darren and the Trailfairies.
Phew, Its was a busy old year!
